Skullcandy Pipe Review

This was our first docking station, and I was looking for something that sounded good and looked great, too. I didn't want anything tacky and large, since I'm funny about the way things look. I bought this dock for my sons, who have basic iPod Shuffles. Although they cannot charge them on this unit, there is none, according to Apple, that both charges and plays for the basic Shuffle; perhaps Apple will work on that next. Anyway, we've found it was a good purchase, because my boys can still play their music, by plugging it in, and I can charge and play my iPhone 3Gs; this was an added bonus, since I had read online that the iPhone was incompatible. Now, there is an error message that pops up, when I dock my iPhone, but you simply click "ignore" and use it anyway. (NOTE: I was given that advice by the manufacturer, and it has proven to be OK) The pipe charges and plays wonderfully, and the remote is very handy, though it can't be used at great distances. And, yes, the remote works when my phone is docked! : ) We're very pleased.

Portable Folding Multimedia Speaker System for iPod/MP3 (Black) Review

These folding Speakers are a surprisingly good value for decent quality portable speakers! There are many sellers rebranding these. We own two sets (black) and I am very pleased with the performance of the these compact speakers, especially at the low price these sell for here on Amazon. Here are my observations:

Pros:
+ Folding; these have a very clever design that allows them to fold in to a small cube for easy transporting
+ Good Sound; produces fairly good sound at all but the highest volume levels (see "Cons", below), at least to my untrained ear
+ Universal Connector; the unit uses a standard mini connector, so this can be used with all of MP3 players
+ Power Options; comes with a USB power cable or it can use 4 x AAA batteries. You can also use a 6v DC power supply (not included)

Cons:
- Bad Instructions; like many products of this type the instructions manual is lacking and, in this case, erroneously lists the power requirements as AC when it should be DC.
- Distortion; at maximum audio levels this sounds pretty bad

Misc:
* iTouch and larger MP3 Plays might not fit as well as others in this (see my picture in "Customer Images"), but they will still work if they have a mini audio jack
* On the iTouch, I found the best sound quality by setting the iTouch volume to about 3/4 max and then making adjustments on the unit's volume wheel

Overall, these are a fantastic value for a set of good quality speakers that have the advantage of being able to fold up for easy carrying!

I was not sure about this product but bought it anyway. I needed a way to listen to my t.v. in the back yard. We have SIRUS on the t.v. and like to party out side with friends and family. I LOVE THEM (the speakers)!! I used them all over the house and outside while working. They sound realy good. The speakers work on batterys or plug in to outlet, We can use them anywhere.

I travel a lot, so this is a great little device to throw into the suitcase and use hooked up to my computer or ipod. It really isn't as useful with a phone since it is just a speaker (no mike). It is a cute little thing, so I could see it being a good gift idea when you don't need to be real personal.The sound is quite good and lots of volume. I love that you can just charge it up by hooking it up to the USB port on your computer.

DB Portable Foldable Speakers for Mp3 Players - Black Review

I bought these speakers to use in my office at work.The sound quality is fine (not amazing but good for what I need).My only complaint/confusion is the tray the iPod sits in.The plug fits into the earbud jack, which we all know is at the bottom of the iPod.But when you plug it in, it will not fit in the tray like it shows in the picture.Unless I'm a complete idiot and just can't figure it out.Oh yeah, the other complaint - no directions come with it.SO, if there is a way to fit the iPod in there better, I wouldn't know it b/c nothing came with it to show you how it's done! Folding it up is easy, but you have to detach the tray to do so and there's no place to connect it once it's folded so it has to travel separately (read - easy to lose it).But, it still works fine for what I need and it was only about $8 w/ s/h.Can't beat that price.

This little speaker is amazing.I have tried many speakers in the past with my laptop and mp3 player...none have been this small or had this kind of sound.Most small speakers have a very tinny quality to them....this one opens up to reveal a small baffle which actually manages to give you some base from this golf-ball sized wonder.I now have 3 of them and you can daisy-chain them together for even more sound!I definately recommend this product.
