Jwin Electronics JH-E20BLK Ultra Lightweight In-ea Review

The JWIN JH series headsets are my favorite. They fit snuggly but comfortably in ear and block out almost all outside noise. They are ideal for airplane rides, working out in a gym, or jogging/walking on a track where there is no need to keep alert (as opposed to running along a street).I have now bought three pairs of these because I use them so much that I wear out the wires. They are definitely worth the buy.

Pioneer DEH-P7000BT In-Dash CD/Mp3/Wma/iTunes AAC/Wav Receiver Review

This is the third in-dash receiver I've installed in my car in the past 2 years, and I have to say, this is by far the best head unit yet. I didn't install an amp and I'm using the stock speakers, so I can't comment much on audio quality. It's as good as can be expected from the marginal factory speakers. Instead, this review will focus on features.

The P7000BT has a very nice, clean design. Some car receivers are just overloaded with dozens of tiny buttons and goofy graphics. Not so with this unit: it is clean and neat, but not too spartan. The cool blue and white faceplace looks modern, and is bright and easy to read in both sunlight and at night.

The large rotary knob on the left side controls volume, station selection and tons of other functions. Its not as elegant as the click wheel on an iPod, but lets face it, no other company can come close to the ease of use of an Apple product. It will take a little getting used to, but after using this Pioneer receiver for a few days, I got the hang of the interface, and I like it. Note that there are no station preset numbers on the faceplate itself; instead, you use the rotary knob to select from one of 6 favorite stations, or you can use the included remote to directly select a preset. At first, I thought this was kind of lame, but after using it for a while, I don't mind it at all.

The built-in Bluetooth is a godsend. Within minutes of first installing the P7000BT, I was able to pair it with my iPhone. It just works. Not much else to say about this.

I also installed a USB to Dock cable, allowing an iPod or iPhone to connect directly to the head unit via USB. Nothing special is required: a standard dock cable is all you need (Apple brand or third party, doesn't matter). Not only does the receiver play the iPod's audio through the car speakers, but it also charges the iPod without the use of an extra clunky cigarette lighter charger. You can even choose to have the head unit control the iPod, in which song titles, artist info, track number and duration show up on the head unit. Or, if you prefer, you can choose to do all your searching on the iPod or iPhone itself. I like how the receiver gives you both options. I prefer to control all my music on the iPod or iPhone, because Apple's interface for browsing music is simply unmatched.

In this review you've seen me mention the iPhone several times. Just to confirm, yes, the P7000BT does work flawlessly with the iPhone, despite the fact that Pioneer never lists it as officially supported. No complaints here. It just works.

Overall, a very nice receiver. Highly recommended!

Pioneer DEH-P5000UB In-Dash CD/MP3/WMA/iTunes AAC/WAV Receiver Review

I purchased this to replace the stock radio in my 2006 F150 4x4. I read the reviews here and elsewhere and was a little bit concerned about the interface in regards to it being non-intuitive and the knob flimsy. I disagree on both counts. The interface is very intuitive once you learn it, and the knob is by no means flimsy. Also, there were comments regarding the lack of presets - this is not a problem at all - when the radio is in tuner mode one only needs to push up or down on the knob to advance to the next preset. There was another complaint regarding the clock - all I can say to that is, read the manual!

My stock radio had very good AM reception but poor FM reception. I was afraid I would lose good AM reception with the new radio, but the AM reception is just as good if not better.

I use this radio with my iPod Touch 2nd generation and again, no complaints. I am a mild audiophile and the output sounds very clean to me in all modes.

I do agree that there should be a mute or pause button on the radio itself in case the remote is not handy. Other than that, this is a great product for the price.

Apple iPod Touch 2nd & 3rd Generation Rubberized BACK-Style Hard Case Protective Cover White Review

What more can be said about a good product designed for the ipod.There are many out there and stumbling across this particular choice was nearly completely at random.Some things can be said however...

1.Being that most Apple products are white, I enjoy the matching color scheme which looks good as well as protects.

2.The feel is rubberized and when held you will find you can hold it steady in your hand at almost any angle.

3.As compared to my last buy the invisible shield, taking it off with no residue is a brilliant touch.

On the negative, the button design is only slightly flawed with a tricky space left to push the volume buttons and such.You will find yourself working a little harder then you should have to when adjusting volume or hitting the hold button.All aside I am completely happy with my purchase, and would buy one again, but that would defeat the purpose.A good case only needs purchased once.

I just got an iPAD (YEA!) and found to my dismay that I can only charge it from the wall adapter (unless ofcourse you have a MAC.... and I dont). I found this product purely by chance on a blackberry forum and found that it can charge an iPAD from any PC USB port. Sure enough it charges my iPAD from my Acer computer and the cable included with the iPAD does not.

Other additional goodies about this product is that it charges even when the Acer PC is in standby saving me the trouble of having the PC on (saves me $$ in electricity which is always good). It also charges my sons iPOD faster than the Apple cable does.

Throw into the mix that it can charge my blackberry 9700 and my Nokia E72 and we have a winner.

This seems like such a no-brainer product but it seems to be a first in the market. Love it!

JVC KD-BT1 - Radio / CD / MP3 player / digital player - EXAD - Full-DIN - in-dash - 50 Watts x 4 Review

I replaced the Blaupunkt San Jose receiver in my Honda Accord 2000 4 door sedan (4 speakers) with JVC KD-BT1 on June 16, 2007. I also added SIR-JVC1, the tuner for Sirius satellite radio.

KD-BT1 comes with an external microphone for bluetooth functionality. You can mount it either behind the steering wheel, or on the visor. I decided to mount it on the visor because that is where most factory installed systems have their microphones. I was able to pair my Verizon RAZR V3C phone with KD-BT1 without any issues. KD-BT1 also automatically transferred the entire address book from my phone. I was able to make outgoing calls by dialing numbers, selecting an entry from address book, and redialing. However, KD-BT1 allows "pass-through" to the phone so that I was able to use voice command features of the RAZR. That is my preferred way for calling people. The called party did not have any complaints about sound quality even when I was driving at highway speeds. I was surprised because my relatively old car gets pretty noisy at those speeds! Some reviewers on the Internet complained that the called party heard an echo of their voice, but I have made around 10 calls so far and the called parties did not encounter this problem. Incoming calls are handled well by the KD-BT1 as well. Any active audio source is automatically muted, caller ID displayed, and if there is a matching entry in the address book, the name from that entry is displayed. Overall, I think the bluetooth functionality is better than factory installed systems in BMW 5 series 2006, Acura TL 2006, and Lexus GS 2006, which I have personally experienced.

The USB interface works great too. I do not have a very large USB flash drive or hard drive, but I tested with a 512 MB flash drive and it worked flawlessly. I also have a SanDisk 1GB player loaded with DRM WMA music purchased from MSN, Walmart etc. I plugged that in to the USB port and KD-BT1 took over the player controls and played DRM WMA flawlessly! This was very exciting because I have a huge library of DRM WMA songs!

The Sirius radio worked without any issues. It is easy to surf channels or jump to your favorite channels.

I only wish they could have made the menu system a little more user friendly. It takes a while to get used to it, but once you do it works fine.

I do not think there is any other car stereo out there with so many features and sources for this price! Highly recommended!
