They even have recommended low priced webcams, headsets, and handsets that can be purchased on Amazon. I even sent some Starter Kits to friends and relatives so that we can talk and video free. Best of all Skype if free to Skype users no matter where they are in the world. What a Deal! The ear buds are great for the price, but don't match the sound quality of better headsets.

Miglia Digital Phone Plus Review

This unit works extremely well as a Skype phone.I have not noticed any range problems when using it throughout my home.It conveniently recharges through any mini-USB cable, so no wall-warts or other cords are required. Sound quality is good, no better or worse than most cordless handsets. The icons on the blue-backlit screen are intuitive. Integration with the Mac Skype client is very good.Scrolling through the contacts on the phone will also scroll them on the Mac client at the same time. The ringtone is customizable, but there is no way to adjust it's volume as far as I could find. The unit is comfortable to handle and appears well made. The charge on the two included AAA rechargeable batteries lasts for over a week in stand-by.The USB wireless dongle is about 3 inches long and a little wider than the USB connector. I had no reception problems with it mounted on the back of my Cinema display.

Skype Certified USB Phone Free-1 (Black Sharing Pack) Review

When I moved to the US, I had to find a way to talk to the family back in France.

Phone cards are cheaper, but the quality of the voice is soooo random... I started using Skype.

Same issue as the previous reviewer: my neck got tired of trying to get close to the computer mic. And same here, I have a mac and a PC, and don't want to pay $100 for a usb phone...

At first, I was stupid enough to buy a wireless phone. Big mistake: Skype does NOT do well with wireless at all. I should've read the reviews: wireless Skype phones mean dropped calls every 2 minutes.

Then I stumbled upon this package - decided to get one for me, and one for my mom.

That was the best decision: the voice quality is hard to reproduce. In fact, it's 6 times better than a regular phone, which is why I'm happy my mom and I both have one. This way, we get the full voice experience of what Skype has to offer. The noise cancelation is flawless (and God knows I've called from noisy cafes), and the clarity of voices is truly incredible.

Conclusion: a must-have for Skype.

IPEVO FR-33.2 Skype USB Handset with LCD- Black Review

This handset, although a lot smaller than I had thought, is a great addition to my laptop. When I got it in the mail, all I had to do was put in the cd, install the software, plug in the phone, fix the default audio problem (which isn't hard), and I was good to go. This handset has great sound quality, and the only issues I have are that the internet connection I have, the bandwidth is shared with a very large amount of people, so there is no flaw with the phone. It's an overall great device, I just notice that the menus dont seem to work, so I have to select who I'm calling on skype on the computer, then hit the call button on the handset.

USB VOIP Phone, Support Skype, Messenger Review

The phone does appear and install (and works) without the driver installed, however (the first reviewer stated this as well) the ringer is not that loud. UNLESS you install the driver software, then it is actually VERY loud. And also the buttons do not work on the phone until you install the driver (which integrates perfectly into XP and Skype).
When the Phone is disconnected, it will default back to your soundcard automatically, so if you get a call it will always work one way or the other. It has an LCD display which displays useful information (caller ID and length of call, and time date) but does NOT display unless the drivers are installed. So I suggest installing the drivers, even though the basic sound functions DO work without it.
Very economical and VERY GOOD deal.
