If your router is not by D-Link, and particularly if you use WPA encryption with that router, do not purchase the DGL-3420.I have tested it with both the Linksys WRT54G and the SMC 2804WMBP-G, and WPA fails with both of them.D-Link technical support, in fact, has confirmed that THEY know the adapter doesn't work using WPA with the WRT54G.

Besides, for significantly less money you can get a wireless bridge with a lot more functionality.After this product failed for me, I purchased the Netgear WGPS606, which can connect FOUR items (X-Box, computer, whatever) to your wireless network AND two wireless print servers, all for $20 less (on Amazon).

Cables Unlimited PCI to PCMCIA Adapter Card (IOC9000) Review

To my surprise, this really didn't take long to get working. I installed the card prior to installing Verizons Broadband software, but after a couple restarts and removing the broadband card and reinserting it, XP finally was able to recognize the card. Install your broadband providers software before attaching the adapter card to your mother board, and it should be a breeze. Wait for the computer to start up before inserting the PCMCIA card into the adapter.

the Belkin G adapter with MIMO is a powerful client card for locations with interference issues and signal strength.I used this adapter with the complementary Belkin Pre-N MIMO router for full feature compliance (MAC address filtering, 128bit WEP or PSK, and 54MBPS throughput).All was great, wiwth the exception of the client sofware utility and Windoz XP.After 4 hours, I caved anc called Tech support.The issue was with MS "approved" software conflicts, Dell's implementation of the network (port aggregator) and XP fighting with the Belkin client over turf.....surprise, surprise....Once identified, sha-zam!I have "excellent" signal clear on the otherside of my house...even oout side!Great card and value!

I started looking at wireless adapters because I was intending to build myself a desktop, and my laptop's wireless card was pre WPA and WPA2.The house I had just moved into had a wireless router already, but it was using WPA encryption, with a pre-shared key (PSK).I of course could not connect with my laptop.

Enter this wonderful zyxel adapter.I purchased it because it was usb, and because of the handy extension and usb stick design.Now, after building my desktop I have it plugged into the back of my desktop with the extension.If I want to use my laptop, I simply disconnect the stick from the stand and plug it into my laptop. It couldn't be easier.

As far as the software goes, I don't see anything particularly wrong with the included software. It's not fancy, but it works.The windows wireless manager also works.And this device works flawlessly with Vista.

TPL WL TL-WN321G 54M USB Adp Review

i have a linksys wireless router and pci card but for some reason they will not talk to each other i got this and it worked perfect. my linksys pci card will see and talk to other networks but not mine for some reason but put this in installed the software put in my ssid and key and bam i am connected i was very suprised. i got it just to try being that it was under $20 figured what the hell.

GSKY High Power 500mW 27dBm 802.11b/g USB Wireless WiFi LAN Adapter With High Gain 7dBi Panel Antenna Review

I can't believe how well this adapter works. I bought it for my ASUS netbook... the range on the wireless adapter isn't fantastic and won't work in our basement family room. (the batcave) Even my regular laptop only gets one bar in the batcave, but the netbook couldn't even pick up the signal from my router on the main floor. I tried a Belkin extended range wireless usb adapter. It was no better than the wifi adapter in the netbook and the driver install blew away the setup for the internal router in the netbook without warning. After a quick system restore, I repackaged and returned the Belkin and ordered the GSky with panel antenna. I just installed it in less than 5 minutes with no harm to my existing wireless adapter setup and the range is unbelievable. I am getting all bars (excellent signal) in the batcave. I can't wait to try it downtown to see how many signals I can get now. If you have a basement family room... this is the $20 answer to your problem. The range on this thing is fantastic and so is the price.

TRENDnet 300Mbps Wireless N USB Adapter TEW-624UB Review

Product works well. Shipped to me with v1.0 of the software -- had to get v1.1 from the website. Also, it's a little large, so it will block things that are very close (e.g. another USB port on top of or right next to it). Trendnet includes a small (about 2") USB extension cable to resolve the problem, though that's a little awkward. On the other hand, probably all wireless N usb adapters will have the same problem, because of the extra antenna & circuitry. Range and throughput are excellent, and it doesn't keep dropping connection like some adapters do.

FWIW, I've verified that this is compatible with not only Trendnet Wireless N routers, but also Linksys WRT600 and dlink dir-655
