SMC Networks SMC SMCWUSB-G IEEE 802.11b/g USB 2.0 EZ Connect 2.4GHz Wireless Adapter Review

I needed a replacement Wifi adapter for my HP laptop because the OEM built in chip died. I bought this adapter because a review I read said it worked well with their Linux computer. In Linux it is true plug and play. I use Mepis Linux and I plugged it in, went to the Mepis control to input my WEP key and clicked apply and I was surfing the web. The link level of the OEM chip indicated 52. From the same spot in the house with this adapter my monitor reads 82.
I have Windows Vista installed on this computer also and it works well with Vista too. The included software CD was needed for Vista and after inputting the WEP key in Vista I had to reboot Windows to get it to work, but it works well once it is installed.

Cisco WAP2000 Wireless-G Access Point - POE Review

I bought this product to provide secure wireless services to our company network. I was pleasantly surprised that it has support for multiple SSIDs with tagged VLAN support (useful for creating a "guest" network for visitors, as well as a separate secure internal network). It supports WPA2-Enterprise, which I'm using together with Windows Server 2003 IAS to allow domain users to be authenticated to the network using their windows login automatically. I was fully expecting problems deploying this somewhat bleading-edge feature, but so far it's worked perfectly (aside from the hassles associated with Microsoft's poor group policy support for WPA2 in XP Pro). The unit has never requiring a restart since I installed it. The physical hardware seems well made also. I'm not using the POE support, because the range on this AP is good enough to allow it to sit in our phone room and cover the entire floor. Overall, this product feels like it's benefited from the Cisco influence, unlike some of Linksys' other recent efforts.

Product Description:
The WAP2000 is a Wireless Access Point ideal for small businesses that want to expand their existing wired networks or create new wireless networks for the workforce or guests. It features RangeBooster technology that is compatible to standard 802.11g but with a range up to two times farther and throughput by up to 35 faster. Unlike ordinary wireless technologies that are hampered by wireless signals that reflect off walls, ceilings, and other objects, RangeBooster uses these multiple signals with two smart receivers at each end (router or access point and client adapter) to boost range and throughput speeds. As a result, a RangeBooster solution reduces or eliminates wireless signal deadspots in offices and other buildings so users can connect to the network in more areas. The WAP2000 comes with 3 dBi antennas for increased power, also helping to extend the range of the Access Point.

Belkin Wireless Notebook Adapter G with MIMO ( F5D9010 ) Review

the Belkin G adapter with MIMO is a powerful client card for locations with interference issues and signal strength.I used this adapter with the complementary Belkin Pre-N MIMO router for full feature compliance (MAC address filtering, 128bit WEP or PSK, and 54MBPS throughput). All was great, wiwth the exception of the client sofware utility and Windoz XP.After 4 hours, I caved anc called Tech support. The issue was with MS "approved" software conflicts, Dell's implementation of the network (port aggregator) and XP fighting with the Belkin client over turf.....surprise, surprise....Once identified, sha-zam!I have "excellent" signal clear on the otherside of my house...even oout side!Great card and value!

ZyXEL G202 802.11g USB Wireless Adapter with Weighted Desktop Base, WPA2 and Software Controlled AP Features Review

I started looking at wireless adapters because I was intending to build myself a desktop, and my laptop's wireless card was pre WPA and WPA2.The house I had just moved into had a wireless router already, but it was using WPA encryption, with a pre-shared key (PSK).I of course could not connect with my laptop.

Enter this wonderful zyxel adapter.I purchased it because it was usb, and because of the handy extension and usb stick design. Now, after building my desktop I have it plugged into the back of my desktop with the extension. If I want to use my laptop, I simply disconnect the stick from the stand and plug it into my laptop. It couldn't be easier.

As far as the software goes, I don't see anything particularly wrong with the included software. It's not fancy, but it works. The windows wireless manager also works. And this device works flawlessly with Vista.

D-Link DWL-3200AP Managed AP PoE AES SNMP 802.11g Plenum Chassis Review

Unit is solid and sturdy and has a bit of a utilitarian look to it. The software that comes with it lets you manage multiples of these devices at a time at a layer 2 level, meaning even if you don't know what it's IP address it, it'll find it and you can set it.

I had never setup WPA enterprise before, so it took a little bit of googling and trial and error, but I did get this going.

Device seems "faster" than the Linksys WAP54G we have been using.

I will be getting additional units to replace all the SOHO Linksys & Dell APs we've got in our organization all currently running WEP...

Linksys Wireless-G Bridge for Phone Adapters WBP54G - Bridge - EN, Fast EN, 802.11b, 802.11g Review

I have had this product for 6 month now.

Installation was easy because the alarm company helped with it. Otherwise the product has been flawless.

I also like that the product is small and does not take up any space. It my case it sits on top of the box that houses the alarm system.
