Sony 512MB Memory Stick Micro (M2) Card (MS-A512 Bulk Package) Review

Sony 512MB Memory Stick Micro CardI ordered this on Oct. 31, got it in the mail today (Nov. 4th).Im so glad that this works for my Sony Ericsson S500i.I am usually good at paying attention to details, but I did pick up the wrong memory card the other day at Walmart (but, you know walmart, they let me return it :) ).It Seemed it would fit, but even though it clicked in, my phone didnt acknowledge that any memory had been inserted, because it wasnt an "M2".But THIS, is an M2, looks exactly as it does in the picture, and works perfectly!*Paying about $50 at BestBuy was NOT an option*
Now, on my upcoming 8-10 hour flight, I will have lots of entertainment available to me via phone (also purchased a back-up battery from amazon for about $4+$4 shipping!)I wanted more than 512mb, but that size was the most cost effective and after all, i do have a laptop for watching little tv shows or movies...so i dont need that on my the M2 card.I'll mainly use the memory stick for songs, language lessons, photos, and videos.
My phone flawlessly recognized that there was a memory stick present (no message popped up, but when i went to the menu, it no longer showed "No memory stick inserted", it instead showed all of the memory stick storage areas). But, just to be sure that it worked, I shot a short video, saved it to the memory stick, then played the video. The video played fine, and afterward, it deleted just fine when I hit delete.I think this was a great buy!*Oh, by the way, the memory available is NOT 512, it is 455.I have heard of that happening/normal for memory...but it would be good if the actual space available was revealed in the description. Not a big deal for me, but it might be a big deal for some other customer.
**Remember, this is just the card, no adapter or anything else was included -other than the tiny plastic case.**I think that will be fine for me, since my phone came with a super easy to use Phone-to-PC Data Suite/file transfers via USB cord.Hmmm...let me test out transferring to and from my computer to the M2 stick, right now, so that you guys can know whether or not it works. Tick tock, tick tock. Okay, yes, it does work. So, if you have a way to connect your phone to your computer, you dont "have to" have an adapter for this M2 stick (or any other memory card I would think). The song transfer I did worked perfectly. But when I transferred an Aqua Teen episode to my phone in the Video folder of the M2 stick, it transferred but my options did not include watching/opening the video. Only Sending it out via bluetooth or in an email. But, i dont fault the card for that...it has also happened with my phone memory.Maybe because of the size of the file..or the folder I placed it in (?)Anyway, although I wasnt crazy about BlueProton's customer service regarding 1 previous purchase/return I had, this has been a great transaction and product thus far.
