The material that this shield is made from is indeed super-strong and almost impossible to tear.Also, the pieces are cut with incredible precision.

However, that precision comes with a price.A phone like the T-Mobile G1 has lots of curves and cutouts; the sliding screen means it's got more individual pieces to cover.The bits of plastic need to be installed with a jeweler's accuracy, or you'll end up with seams or overlaps.That's just how close the tolerances are.

Frankly, if I had three or four sets to practice with, I'm sure I could have nailed it and given this a higher review.But with just one set and one chance to get it right, it's hard to recommend it much higher than I have.

I ended up peeling off and discarding everything except the panel covering the screen.It's no coincidence that this is the only rectangular, flat surface on the phone.I feel better, though, with the screen covered.The rest of the case isn't as important.

I'm certain that someone who's installed a few of these could do a spectacular job and you'd get an excellent skin.But when you've got one phone and one set of sticky pieces and have never worked with the product before, installing it well is nigh impossible.

I realize precision cutting and the glove-accurate fit is the whole point behind the product, but it's just damned hard to work with.
