Rating this unit alone, I'd give it 5 stars... but as it works as part of the system that includes the phones... or should I say it HAS to work as part of that system... it loses some ground.

This phone is great. I didnt buy it from Amazon but got it from an electronic store in my neighborhood. None the less it looks fantastic - very sleek and ultra modern. I never read the manual (As I never do any new device I buy including TV's) I played around with all the buttons until I got the hang of how features such as the phone book, personalized answering machine message, and phone volume worked. I will suggest you read the manual to program speed dial/phone book, and the speaker phone feature because although I winged it,it was a pain in the ass doing the hit and miss technique for those two features. I will put it out there that the speaker phone feature is a disappointment being that to use it you have to leave the phone on the base, stay close by and use it that way versus the handset itself having the speaker phone and you carry that around. NOPE the speaker phone is on the base itself which is awkward unless you use intend to leave this unit on such a surface like the computer desk, nightstand, or kitchen counter where you will be be stationed near by it while you prepare dinner or do homework/writting ect and talk hands free. If I had knew that annoying feature I would have skipped it. But overall I am pleased, cell phone calls tend to be a little lower so I have to turn the volume to it's max which it was 5 (wish it was 10) and calls from land lines like a medical office or a family member's house comes thorough very loud and clear. Those calls I have to turn it down to 3 or else it sounds like the person is yelling. I have accused several people who called me from lan lines of this until I noticed what was wrong. Other than my own personal tiff about this phone I have no complaints. I have NEVER experienced interference/static which I love. I have this phobne hooked up to my cable modem (I have triple play cable/internet/phone)so it doesnt act all funky or cut short my internet service like other brands have (it wasnt the modem. I had it checked. It was myprevious phone) So all in all I can talk and surf without having to make the dreadful choice to cut my nana's conversation's short in order to shop online. Well I rambled enough - so lets end this by me saying if you buy this you will not be sorry, even if you paid 80 bucks for it, its worth every dime. Even the answring machine messages play back at clear digital quality. What are you waiting for? In the past I've purchased replacement batteries for my Uniden phone from Radio Shack.This year I noticed my phone wasn't holding a charge more than an hour so I knew it was time for a new battery, before the phone couldn't hold a charge at all.I walked over to Radio Shack (with my phone handset and its battery) to purchase a replacement. These are an awesome 5 jack adapter. Far better than any I've been able to find at the store, and the price is great too. No static, hum, or issues of any kind with this adapter.
