Pros:
- Major shock protection.
- Well designed case will not come apart very easily in accidents, but extremely easy to install and remove.
- All buttons and openings are protected, accurately accommodated for and easily accessible. The buttons are covered with rubber overlays (part of the outer cover) which are quite easy to operate.
- As big as it is, this thing comes with a holster that works very well.
- Combination of strong plastic and thick rubber outer layer gives it a unique appearance.If this were yellow, people will think you're a contractor!It is solid black, and looks like serious gear.
-Comes with an interior clear screen/keyboard cover that encompasses the front and back of the phone's surface.

Cons:
-Practicaly doubles your phone's physical volume.It doubles the thickness of the phone and adds about 1/3" in height and width.
-While the provided clear interior cover is optional, it does leave alot to be desired.Easy to type, but impossible to apply to the screen without bubbles.It is made of a flexible plasticky clear material not unlike static cling-ons.And the only part on the phone that will stick to it is the glass screen.The Bold's ultra-silky resolution will be adulterated with unavoidable ugly bubbles.
-Not using the clear interior cling-on protector inside the case will leave it less snug, resulting in possible shifting inside.Continual shifting might result in scratches if there is sand or dust between the case and phone.
- The Otterbox company is known to product waterproof cases.This is no such product.For the added size, you would question why they just didn't go the extra mile to make it completely weather proof rather than just just bulk protection.Sand, dirt, dust can still enter the case through the many openings on the phone, possibly resulting in scratches over time.
-Because this is a hard plastic case, your phone will be incompatible with the many available charging stations/docks.
-covers the accessory hook at the bottom of the phone.I use it to attach a retractable steel cord reel (I lose my phones all the time).
-Adds some significant weight to the phone also.

Some people have complained about the plastic bar that is between the keyboard and screen. That was designed to add support to the case.It is slightly elevated so as to not touch the front surface (so it does flex slightly with force).Anyhow, it does impede normal operation of the trackball. By normal, I mean completely flat surface available for your thumb to slide around easily. With the bar, you have to use more of the tip of your thumb.This doesn't bother me at all and I was able to get around just fine.In fact, I didn't think about it until I read the complaint in another Amazon review of this product.

From the photos, the case seems great. But when it arrived, the sheer size blew me away.It's sort of a macho look, but forget about putting this thing in your pockets unless you wear really baggy jeans or cargo pants. It huge.To put this in perspective, it is about as thick as a standard pack of cigarettes and exactly the height of a can of cola.

Care and Maintenance
The case and silicone can both be cleaned with mild soap and water if necessary. Only the exterior of the screen membrane has been coated to prevent from scratching. To avoid scratching the inside of the screen membranes ensure the membrane is free of dust and dirt. Clean with a lint free soft cloth.
