Et?n American Red Cross FR405 - Portable radio - white Review

This is a fairly decent radio. I live in an area where we don't pick up many radio stations and that's okay. I needed it for severe weather alerts (we live in a hurricane zone) and it does just what I need it to do.

The one problem I initially had is the manual's poor instruction. I had to contact Eton about it. The manual explains how to set it to alert you of weather warnings. The instructions were fine, except where they said, "select the strongest weather station." I was scratching my head trying to figure out how to know what the strongest weather station was. In vain, I searched online without an answer.

I contacted Eton (the maker) and was given just the perfect answer: To select your weather channel, switch the alert setting to the off position. You will then be able to hear the weather band. Go through each channel to see which one is the clearest. Once you select it, switch it back to alert and you are all set.

While I appreciate their answer, I would've preferred to have had that tip to begin with. It sounds like a simple answer, but I was following the instructions for the alerts.

In any case, it works well and does just what I need. I read a review elsewhere where it said they were awakened in the middle of the night to an alert that said the weather was clear, but I am pretty sure that it wasn't set to "alert." As the instructions they gave me indicate, you can switch on the weather without being on alert.

All in all it does what I need it to do and without any major problems, now that I know how.

CAT6, UTP, with Molded Boot, 500MHz, Green, 25 ft Review

At first I thought this cable might be cheap, but it ended up working just fine.The squeeze to release clip and the entire plug/jack assembly is very small compared to the average network cable.Great if you need to fit in a tight space, but probably not great if you need it to have a long ruggedized area between the cable and the jack. Other than that unique part about the plug/jack, everything worked fine with this cable.

Alert:I think something may be wrong/off with the pricing.$40 is extremely high for this.

I find this item to be very useful for long drives, especially when you want to keep using the player after the long drive. The end piece fits into the lighter hole with a nice snap to it so it doesn't fall out, ever. I had this problem before with a discman charger quite some time ago. I do wish that the cord wasn't coiled. Where i set my mp3 player makes a bit of a stretch and it almost pulls my player out of the pocket that i have my player sitting in. But i suppose the coiled cord is for incase the cord is snagged on someone trying to get out of the car and doesn't rip the charger out of the lighter which may cause damage, or even damage your mp3 player.

MeggaBoom Lite-Blue Portable, Rechargeable Mini Bass Speaker System Review

I travel a lot, so this is a great little device to throw into the suitcase and use hooked up to my computer or ipod. It really isn't as useful with a phone since it is just a speaker (no mike). It is a cute little thing, so I could see it being a good gift idea when you don't need to be real personal.The sound is quite good and lots of volume. I love that you can just charge it up by hooking it up to the USB port on your computer.

Apple iPhone 3GS Car Vent Holder - Gomadic Brand Review

It's an ok vent mounted stand.VMS's have certain concerns for would be buyers.
1. they are easy to jostle. especially in the up direction.
2. the grip solution that most have for your phone means fiddling with it a bit every time you put it in or pull it out.

so they don't feel too stable but they make do in a pitch, and the price is right for this kind of setup.

My husbands friend ended up giving us her boost mobile as the battery didn't have much life on it and you pretty much had to have it plugged in to work.We still took it as that way my husband would have a cell phone he could keep in his truck.After a year of using it this way I wondered how much a new battery would cost (my husband said his friend had checked before and they were expensive) and was thrilled to find that it wasn't that much so I order one and can say I am so glad I did!
