I find this item to be very useful for long drives, especially when you want to keep using the player after the long drive. The end piece fits into the lighter hole with a nice snap to it so it doesn't fall out, ever. I had this problem before with a discman charger quite some time ago. I do wish that the cord wasn't coiled. Where i set my mp3 player makes a bit of a stretch and it almost pulls my player out of the pocket that i have my player sitting in.
