The case itself is of excellent quality with the exception of the magnetic locking tab.It's useless.The magnets have poor attraction and do not make any useful contact.Fortunately, the snapping lock doesn't rely on the magnetic lock.The maker of this case would do well to simply do away with the magnetic tab altogether, as this case simply doesn't need it.Although simply cutting it off would be a mistake, as it is double sewn into the case, and is impossible to remove after the fact without causing serious damage to the workmanship.
The leather itself is top quality, very thick and durable.The exterior of the case is a sueded leather, and would show wear very well.this is not a bad thing, since sueded leather takes on an interesting characteristic after its seen a great deal of wear, leaving behind patterns and polishings as unique as the individual owning it.
Inside, the leather is a smoother, patterned design, yet still very soft.The pocket would be useful for an ID card or, as shown, used for storing a wipe cloth.Just don't plan on using the large wipe cloth that came with your Archos.Even with a mini cloth, it's difficult to put in the pocket, and it does protrude somewhat onto the screen when closed.
The built-in "kick stand" on the case is also rugged and durable and snap-locks in the closed position.In the open position, the spot where the two pieces of leather meet is very stiff and will take some time to break in.
Since there is no belt loop or clip on this case, half the back is basically unused.If it were up to me, I'd have put a small snap-pouch on the back for the cloth, instead of trying to cram it into the inside pouch.
In closing, this case is very good...Although it's a little more expensive than other cases, it's a durable design, the sewing is very well done and the leather is obviously top quality.The sueded outside will wear well, but the mag-lock should be removed entirely during manufacturing -or- use larger, stronger rare-earth magnets, properly placed.
