Sennheiser HZR-62 Stereo Volume Control Review

The Sennheiser HZR headphone balance adjustment is what you need if you're bothered by problems with an unbalanced (left-right) audio source and you're listening with a device that doesn't incorporate a balance control (I'm surprised at how common a problem this is).

The Sennheiser unit isn't cheap (about thirty dollars) but it's well built and it does the job.

The unit is purely passive and it functions by virtue of being composed of two ('left' and 'right') 'slide' type potentiometers in the signal path. When at 'maximum' the controls appear as resistances across the left and right audio paths but at too high a resistance to be any kind of a problem.

As the 'sliders' are brought down (to reduce the volume of either the left or right channels) the output (towards the headphones) is brought nearer the ground side of the audio channels in a Voltage-divider type configuration.

As long as you've got more than enough volume to drive your headphones then this Sennheiser unit will give you essentially infinite adjustment range over the relative volumes of the left and right channels.

I've found the device sufficiently convenient such that I've recently purchased a second unit (because the first one is being employed in a relatively long-term application).

Plantronics OEM 320 330 340 510 590 640 645 655 665 Home Charger Review

I and my children use the Plantronics bluetooth earpieces, and this is a great charger.(We each have at least two of these--one for travel, one for home, and one for second homes.)These are reliable, have never failed, and the side-plug configuration is great for plug strips (this is one of my favorite attributes of this charger).

I like how it can be used for different Plantronics devices, too.I have had friends come over with a dead bluetooth (Plantronics) and have been able to recharge during their visit.Very nice.

Koss KSH1 Hold-a-Phone Stereophone Hook, Black Review

The photo doesn't do this thing justice--it's huge.I bought it to hang my Grado SR60 headphones from the glass top of my computer desk.Since the top overhangs, it allows me to store the headphones beneath the top.For my intended purpose, the Koss KSH1 is perfect.

But--while the hook clearance is no problem for the SR60, for headphones with a padded head band, you might have a convenience problem.The clearance between the end of the hook and the part that grips the shelf is less than 1/2 inch.The hook is flexible and if you pull it downward, the interior of the hook can accomodate any size head band.

The good part is that it's unlikely you'd ever accidentally knock the headphones off the hook.But you might not want to pull the hook down every time you want to store the headphones.For headphones like the Beyerdynamic DT990, I think I'd prefer a hanger like the one Sennheiser provides with the HD595, even though it will extend out from the shelf about 2 3/4 inches.
