First of all, I would like to state that the product picture used on this page is NOT the product that you will receive. the first 2 images show a standard archos 5 cable inserted into an archos while the third and images show a completely different product. Now onto how this cable actually works. The cable itself is of good quality and the tip removal works nicely with the archos snap in plug, although it can be a nuisance if it becomes removed while charging.
At first I was having problems with getting it to connect to my computer properly but after fiddling with it I've managed to get it to work. make sure you have the removable bit fully inserted (it will snap) before connecting it to your computer.
It works well as a replacement cable just make sure the removal bit is properly inserted and know that the cable is not the same as the one that comes with the archos 5
