Audio Technica ATH-ANC7B Active Noise-Cancelling Closed-Back Headphones Review

Audio Technica ATH-ANC7B Active Noise-Cancelling Closed-Back HeadphonesDisclosure:I have tried all these on an airplane.I am not an audiophile.Noise Cancelation is the most important attribute to me.

The Carrying Case:All three are quite durable and stiff.
1.) Bose- the smallest, a low profile, room for an Ipod, accessories too.
2.) Sennheiser- Square shape, low profile, however not a lot of room for anything else in case.
3.)Audio Technica- Nice big case if you want to carry extra stuff (Nintendo DS, ipod, etc).

Build Quality:
1.) Sennheiser- you can tell this is built VERY well.Strong plastics, good components, thick cord.Top notch. You feel like you are getting something really high quality.
2.)Audio Technica- Nice solid construction, appears durable.
3.)Bose- If this had a Sanyo logo on the side, I would not have flinched. How can something $300 be so incredibly cheaply made.

Size:
1.) Bose- as far as over the ears go, these are pretty small.
2.)Audio-Technica- mid-sized.
3.)Sennheiser- These are big.No question, but they store flat.

Comfort:
1.) Sennheiser- Very comfortable, will fit almost any size ears.Keep on for hours.
2.)Bose- Also comfortable.I did not experience "highs" discomfort.
3.)Audio-Technica- Perfectly satisfactory.Larger opening than previous AT model.

Sound:
1.) Sennheiser- I actually wore these at home too, simply to hear parts of songs I had never heard before.Astounding.My 10yr old music collection sounded totally NEW.
2.)Audio-Technica- Well balanced, good sound.
3.)Bose- Great sound, but very heavy on the bass.I listen to a lot of rap and pop, so it was mildly annoying.I ultimately had to turn my treble settings up on my ipod to balance the sound.

Features:
1.) Sennheiser- nice cord, push to talk button (temporarily mutes NC and sound which is great for interruptions on airplanes).
2.)Bose/Audio Technica- just the basics.Bose simply an on/off switch.

Price:
1.) Audio Technica- $150 to $225 depending on how you shop.
2.)Sennheiser- $200 to $275
3.)Bose- Hard to find below $300+.

Noise Cancelation:
1.) Bose- No question here, far surpassed the other two.Best Noise Cancelation.
2.)Audio-Technica- Good Noise Cancelation.
3.)Sennheiser- Not sure what happened here.Incredible sound, satisfactory noise cancelation.

Summary:

I ultimately kept the Bose because I was only using these for flying and the Sennheiser's (as much as I loved them) let me down in the Noise Cancelation department. The Sennheiser's had by far the most superior sound, but the Bose Noise Cancelation was night and day.The Bose are made very poorly for a $300+ product, it was disappointing.

Final assessment:

Audio-Technica- best balance of value for money
Sennheiser- Best sound and comfort
Bose- Best Noise Cancelation

VXI BlueParrott Roadwarrior B250 Bluetooth Handsfree Headset for Cell Phones and Computers with AC and Auto Chargers Review

VXI BlueParrott Roadwarrior B250 Bluetooth Handsfree Headset for Cell Phones and Computers with AC and Auto Chargersi bought the road warrior b250.i knew it would be big and clunky, but hey, i wanted industrial! 5 years on the road, and i know the difference between what the tin can sound and the ones that get drowned by 18 wheelers passing, or idling in traffic, and the real sound that good equipment can deliver.

so here it is:i can use my blue parrot, with both windows down, and radio playing so loud two people sitting side by side cant have a conversation. (like at a night club, yelling) it can hear, when i cant hear myself think.

Ive seen two sets of numbers, one says +10 hour talk time, the other says +16 hours.both are longer than my 9hr phone talk time. sooooo...if one talks for 5 of the 10 hours (ie half) then they will get half of the expected standby time. and if its extremely hot or cold, that does take away some use time. but its just like it was stated on the package... its a boat load of talk and standby time... AND it came with a normal AC wall plug, and a DC cigarette plug.

there does seem to be a bare bit of white noise when its quiet..there just a little sound, kind of like how you can tell that the TV or RADIO is on, but has the volume muted? Some like it, some like me dont, and ive been assured i could fine tune that out, with a call to customer tech service... but if thats my only whine, then IM HAPPY with the product!

oh yeah, the company: shipping was fairly priced standard mail, with point and click tracking on the amazon account page. it delivered ontime, as stated.

satisfied cutomer,

kevin taylor

Motorola H790 Bluetooth Headset (Silver) Review

Motorola H790 Bluetooth HeadsetI bought this just last week, so I haven't used it a ton yet, but my preliminary use has been excellent!I've tried only a couple different models (Motorola's H710 and Plantronics Explorer), both of which did not provide enough noise cancelling. The H790 though, has done a pretty god job so far.I have my wife wear it and call me from a few different locations, that way I get to experience what other people might experience when I'm talking to them.

The H790 sounds excellent in normal, quiet conditions (house with low TV, car with windows up); you can hardly tell they're on the Bluetooth, it really does sound just like being on the handset. With windows down at a stop light with trucks next door, I could start to hear a very faint fuzz in the background, but it didn't diminish my wife's voice at all and she still came over crystal clear. Once she started driving with the windows down, though, I could start to hear the fuzz build in volume, still, it wasn't enough to drown out her voice and I could hear her just fine.We didn't try it in a crowd yet.

The design is super slim, the ear loop swivels around for compact carrying and it's very lightweight. The H790 talks to you (you have an incoming call, connected with phone 1, etc), which can be turned off.It has a cool off/on button so you can see at a glance whether or not the device is on. It can be paired with two phones at once, which is one of those great technical advancements.

So far, it's much better than the H710 or Plantronics, which both left your voice sounding hollow and metallic with a rushing river sound in the background.Hopefully this one will last a long time, unlike the H710, which started cutting out and not connecting after several months, and eventually becoming too fuzzy to hear what the person was saying.
