World Modem V92 Data/fax USB Portable Modem Review

This is the only portable usb modem I have found that supports class 2/2.0/2.1 faxing, (most modems only offer class 1, which means that more of the work needs to be done by software on the computer).
Thanks to the class 2/2.0 faxing, this modem works with the mgetty+sendfax tools on linux.
Most other modems out there don't support faxing on linux.

The only problem is that for kernels 2.6.33 and older, you need to patch and recompile your kernel, with a driver tarball provided on multitech's support website. Kernel 2.6.34 and later ones support this modem natively.

A driver for apple mac OS X is available as well.

Other things I liked about this modem is the informative LED lights, the hidden but audible speaker (didn't expect one on a small USB modem), and caller-id support.

Unfortunately, this modem is very expensive, but it comes with a 10 year warranty, which, along with the class 2 faxing, makes the price slightly easier to swallow.

NOTE: faxing didn't work for me until I used &C0 (DCD on) in the initialization strings. I got error +FHNG:-5 without it, even if I had "ignore-carrier yes" in the settings of the mgetty+sendfax software.

World Modem V92 Data/fax USB Desktop Business Modem Review

This product worked very well right out of the box for my fax server. Do take your time to install all the software that came with it so the usb port gets configured correctly. The only down side is that McAfee 8.0 does not like this modem and will block the usb port. Go figure so don't use McAfee with this.

Mini USB Charger Keychain for Li-Ion Batteries Review

My son had a LG phone and because the over usage, the connecting point does not function any more. I purchsed this and charge directly to the battery. Wow, it works. However, this was made by cheap material. I highly doubt this can be a long term solution.

I came across this comprehensive review when browsing the Internet. I would have written a review but this review says everthing I wanted to say:

The miniVox MV100 portable USB speakerphone is designed for Internet telephony and web conferencing applications such as Skype, Vonage, Webex, Marratech, Breeze, GizmoProject, or iChat AV. The miniVox is a nice solution for PowerBooks, laptops, or even desktops when you want engage in hands-free conversations or conference calls. It is small (Dimensions: 3.2 x 2.2 x 0.8 inches - 8.1 x 5.5 x 2.0 cm) and light (Weight: 1.5 ounces - 42 grams) and cheap. The miniVox MV100 also has a 2.5mm headset jack on its left size.

As anybody that has engaged in VoIP or web conferencing with a computer has experienced, audio works best with a PC headset. When you try and use your computer speakers and a mic, echo will plague the other participants. It is a simple matter of acoustics, the audio from your speakers will leak back into your microphone and cause the person you are speaking to to hear themselves back with an annoying delay. If more than one participant is connected this way, your conference may end up being a nightmare.

Universal Li-Ion Battery Charger with LCD Display up to 2000 mAh Review

This product is a good option if your charger port is broken. It does take a while longer to charge than having the battery in your phone, but if you like your phone buy one of these. It's pretty simple to use and compact. I have a sharp tm-150 that I use as a digital camera primarily and this product works with the battery I have. I had to put it in at somewhat of an awkward angle, but it's worthwhile nonetheless.
