This is quite an awesome little kit, for an awesome little price. Try to get an original manufacturer's charger and 2 batteries for this...The mini charger and batteries worked extremely well, and the batteries are even better than the Sony one that was included with my Sony camera: these batteries give a readout in minutes of power remaining, which is nicer than a few bars. I like the fact that the charger can be plugged into the wall as well as used in a car, and this is one of the main reasons why I purchased this kit.
Batteries take a few hours to really fully charge (from empty), but there was no problem leaving a battery in overnight. I did not detect any heat during charging.
My only "gripe" with the charger is the USB port, which is 350 mA, and this is not enough to charge an iPhone (needs 500 mA), and even an iPod nano will not charge. With so few power outlets available in motels/hotels, the option to plug in a 500 mA USB device while charging a battery with this charger would have made this absolutely perfect. In practical terms it's not a huge problem, as I just take a power-strip with me when I travel.
Based on the USB port power output, I would give this kit about 4 to 4.5 stars, but the items included (2 batteries, charger module, 12V car power plug & cord, USB to mini-USB cable, a plug adapter for international travel (type C, a.k.a "Europlug") and the fantastic customer service of the seller "Accessory Power" (simply far beyond expectations), gets this kit absolutely to 5 stars total.
If you plan to buy this kit and want to charge through the USB port, just check your gadget's power requirements...
Some things may work just fine, where 350 mA of power is enough.
